To measure hat size:
Measure around the head at a point about one inch above the ears. Pull the tape snug, but not too tight for comfort.
Round this measurement up to the nearest 1/2 inch; do not round down. A hat size may be substituted, if known.
If the individual ordering a cap has a very full hairstyle, measure over the hair as snugly as the cap is to be worn. The cap may have to be secured in position with a bobby pin or hair clip over a full hairstyle.
