General Description:
This vibrantly illustrated circle-of-the-year Catholic liturgical calendar uses scriptural images-- The Nativity, the Crucifixion, the sermon on the plain, and the Emmaus story-- to explain the importance of the seasons on the liturgical year and how they are an expression of Christ's Paschal Mystery. The calendar begins the First Sunday of Advent and presents all the Sundays and weekdays of the liturgical year. The Sundays of the year form the outer circle, and each spoke of the wheel represents a week. The seasons are defined by colors and weekdays are marked with seasons, solemnities, feasts, fast days, and memorials of the saints.
On the back of the calendar you will find a guide to using the calendar, general information about the liturgical year, and information about the art and artist.
Use the Year of Grace Calendars in many ways:
- give (or sell) one to every household in the parish and school
- hang a poster calendar in every classroom to teach about the liturgical year
- have students report on the significance of various liturgical days
- present calendars to first communicants and Confirmation candidates
- adorn the church vestibule and gathering space with a poster calendar
- spruce up the teacher's lounge, offices, and other public areas in the school while helping everyone who enters remember the importance of the liturgical year!
